A Test Engineer is required to join our production team to fault find high performance Intel® processor single board computers, switches and networking cards. The successful candidate will have a strong digital electronics background with microprocessor experience, and be able to read and understand manufacturers’ data sheets and schematics. He or she will be expected to identify faults down to signal level, identifying which component has failed. A familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analysers and In Circuit Emulators (ICE) is assumed. In addition to the technical aptitude, the role requires the ability to work to tight time scales, and to support our test technicians with product testing when required.
You should be educated to graduate standard (preferred), or qualified to UK Higher National Diploma (HND) standard in Electronics or equivalent. You will have a number of years practical experience working on similar complex products, including experience of some of the following:
- 32/64 bit microprocessors, preferably Intel 80×86 architecture
- High performance communications peripheral devices, for example Gigabit Ethernet
- Complex programmable logic devices
- High performance interconnects, for example PCI Express or RapidIO
- High speed digital logic (400MHz and faster)
- Advanced memory technologies such as DDR 4 SDRAM
A working knowledge of any of the following would be a distinct advantage: VME bus, CompactPCI, VPX, PMC, XMC or AMC architectures. It is also important that you have the ability to interact well with other technical staff.
