Pre- and Post-Sales Applications Engineers
The Job:
Office-based
in Colchester, Essex, you will provide support and act as technical
contact for many of our customers world-wide.
You will be involved in the following:
- Provision of demonstration and test programs based around our Pentium M and Dual Core Processor products.
- Testing and installation of several industry-standard operating systems.
- Provision of technical back-up to our marketing and sales force, both pre-sales and post-sales, and to generate appropriate supporting documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or HND level Engineering or Computer Science
qualification preferred, with experience in at least four of the areas
below.
- Knowledge of x86 architecture (ideally including a good understanding of PCI and PCI Express)
- C, and assembly languages
- System administration using Linux
- VxWorks, or other real-time operating systems
- Systems programming for Windows XP or Linux
- Embedded software development

Knowledge of VME or CompactPCI bus architecture
The ability to communicate effectively with the company's customers at an engineering level, both verbally and in writing, is an important additional requirement as is the ability to work as part of a team.
