The Company

A diagnostic engineer is required to join our Test Department at our UK location. The successful candidate must have a strong digital electronics back ground with Microprocessor experience. Must be able to read and understand manufacturing data sheets and schematics. You will be expected to identify faults down to signal level identifying what component has failed and possible reasons to failure. Use of oscilloscopes logic analysers and in-circuit emulators.

Experience & skills

Must have at least 5 years [ractical experience working on similar complex products.

· 32/64 bit microprocessors, preferably Intel 80x86 architecture

· High performance communications peripheral devices, e.g. Gigabit Ethernet

· Complex programmable logic devices

· High performance bus architectures e.g. PCI-Express, RapidIO, CompactPCI or VME

· High speed digital logic (400MHz and faster)

· Advanced memory technologies, e.g. DDR or DDR III SDRAM

Working knowledge of the following would be a distinct advantage:

· VME bus, CPCI, VPX, PMC, XMC architecture

Qualifications

Candidates should be graduates [preferred]

Higher notational diploma in electronics.
