Introduction to the Company |
|
|
|
Concurrent Technologies is a world leader in the design and
development of high performance computer products based on Intel® CPU technology. Telecommunications, military and aerospace markets are the main users of Concurrent Technologies'
products. But many other market sectors like transportation and
industrial systems utilize
our products.
Concurrent Technologies was
established in 1985 and is headquartered in Colchester, United
Kingdom and our main North American office is in Woburn,
Massachusetts,
USA.
Concurrent Technologies designs all of
its products to comply to the RoHS
2002/95/EC directive. Concurrent Technologies' website is
continuously being updated with RoHS compliant product datasheets.
Please contact us if you require any further information on
RoHS compliant products. In addition, Concurrent
Technologies works to a Company approved

Expertise |

|

Skills:
Concurrent Technologies'
team of highly skilled and experienced design engineers develop hardware, firmware and
software products of the highest quality. We stay at the leading-edge of high performance
processor implementations. Our extensive skills are supported by state-of- the-art CAD
tools, PCB routing and design rule checking systems together with our comprehensive
in-house computer resources for FPGA design and reliability predictions.
Software:
Most of Concurrent Technologies engineering team is involved with software
development - producing BIST (Built-In Self-Test) firmware, porting operating systems,
writing device drivers and producing networking software. This allows our customers to use
Concurrent Technologies' hardware with industry standard software that already works with
Concurrent Technologies' hardware - our customers do not have to port the OS, we have
already done the porting work. This allows our customers to "plug-and-play"
standard operating systems with our hardware.
Simple Customer Upgrades:
Concurrent Technologies realizes that most of its customers want to upgrade part
of their system. This upgrade is normally to provide more processing power or increased
I/O capabilities. Rather than expect our customers to make radical changes to their system
(major software changes) our design engineers concentrate their effort on compatibility
with existing products.

Quality -
ISO9001:2000 |
|
|
|
Concurrent Technologies builds close, long term relationships with
customers based on quality and an in-depth understanding of how to meet their specific
requirements. We design the quality into a product from the start. Every new product is
rigorously qualified against its specification before release, so ensuring highly reliable
performance. Every employee is responsible for the quality of his/her
contribution to the company. By continuously improving internal performance, we maintain a
very high level of quality and customer service.
Implementing a Quality Management
plan and regular quality audits promotes continual improvement
in all aspects of quality within Concurrent Technologies.
We design and manufacture to the highest standards. All products are checked
carefully for compliance to the appropriate standards at every stage of development, from
the initial design, and in-house PCB layout, to assembly, test and final inspection. Only
high quality components are purchased and assembled according to the workmanship standards
expected by our customers. After assembly, most boards undergo extensive functional
testing followed by active temperature cycling between 0°C and 55°C while carrying out
comprehensive diagnostics. All quality systems and procedures are reviewed and monitored
regularly to ensure adequate control and traceability.

Customer
Support |
|
|
|
To maintain Concurrent Technologies' success, we listen carefully
to our customers so that we continue to design the products they need not the products
that we wish them to use. Ideally we become an extension of our customers' engineering
teams, bringing our extensive board level design experience to the partnership. Effective
pre- and post- sales support is also a major commitment to our customers, to ensure that
product integration is made as easy as possible.
Our support is not limited to hardware support; as with most computer related
products today, software is the important issue. We provide direct support for all of the
software and firmware products that we design, develop and use. This means that Concurrent
Technologies supports Unix®, Windows NT®, Windows® 2000,
Windows® XP, Windows® XP Embedded, Solaris®, QNX®, VxWorks®, iRMX®, QNX®, VRTX®, UnixWare®, LynxOS® and Linux operating systems together with numerous drivers.

Warranty |
|
|
|
Our hardware products are supplied with a 24 month warranty which
can be extended to 5 years. Out of warranty repairs are carried out at fixed rates. If
a board fails in service, the highest priority is placed on minimizing repair turnaround
time. For critical applications where a board is urgently required, an advance replacement
service is available.

Custom
Designs |
|
|
|
If a customer's precise requirements cannot be met from Concurrent
Technologies' wide product range, the company's renowned flexibility in design and
manufacturing ensures that customized versions of standard products, or completely new
designs can be completed quickly and cost-effectively. See
Custom Design Page.
Because of our very modular approach to design (hardware, software and firmware)
it is very easy for Concurrent Technologies to produce a special product in a very short
time.
