Low Power CompactPCI® SBC supports Intel® Pentium® M processor, Quad GigE, U160 SCSI and dual SATA150

Concurrent Technologies enhances their range of single slot, high performance, low power, CompactPCI® based single board computers (SBC) utilizing the Intel® Pentium® M processor. The PP 300/02x supports the 1.6 GHz processor (1 Mbyte L2 cache) and the PP 302/02x supports either the 1.8 GHz or 1.4 GHz processor (2 Mbytes L2 cache). Using the Intel® 855GME GMCH, the processor can access up to 2 Gbytes of 333 MHz DDR ECC SDRAM. The PP 30x/02x can operate as a system/peripheral slot controller or as a satellite board (blade), all with hot-swap capability. Utilizing the Intel® 6300ESB ICH, this SBC’s I/O capability includes Ultra-160 SCSI, dual EIDE ATA100 and dual Serial ATA150 interfaces, a 66MHz PMC site, four Gigabit Ethernet channels, PICMG® 2.16 and PICMG 2.9 (IPMI). Applications include telecoms, telemetry, defense, security, industrial-control, scientific, and aerospace markets.

CompactPCI® Dual PMC Host Board utilizes Intel® Pentium® M processor and Intel® 855GME chipset

Concurrent Technologies announces a range of high performance low power CompactPCI® based dual PMC single slot boards utilizing the Intel® Pentium® M processor. The PP 330/02x supports the 1.6 GHz processor (1 Mbyte L2 cache) and the PP 332/02x supports either the 1.8 GHz or 1.4 GHz processor (2 Mbytes L2 cache). All boards support up to 2 Gbytes of 333 MHz DDR ECC DRAM utilizing the Intel® 855GME chipset. As well as two 66MHz PMC sites with front and rear I/O, the PP 33x/02x family supports four Gigabit Ethernet channels, PICMG® 2.16 (Packet Switching Backplane), PICMG 2.9 (IPMI) and PICMG 2.1 (hot swap). The PP 33x/02x can operate as a system controller board or as a satellite board (blade).

Concurrent Technologies supports LynxOS® 4.0 for CompactPCI® and VME Boards
Concurrent Technologies announces their support of LynuxWorks LynxOS® 4.0 hard-real-time operating system for Concurrent Technologies range of high performance Motorola® PowerPC® and Intel® Pentium® boards for both VME and CompactPCI® architectures. Included in the list of boards supported is Concurrent Technologies’ latest 1GHz Motorola MPC7455 PowerPC based VME board where LynxOS 4.0 provides support for Motorola AltiVec technology. Vertical markets include defense, industrial automation, medical, aerospace, scientific and telecommunications industries.

MPC7455 PowerPC® based VME64x SBC with  PMC, GUI, Ultra-160 SCSI and dual GigE interfaces (Discontinued)
Concurrent Technologies has broadened its PowerPC based VME64x product range with the introduction of the VP 742/20x. This single slot board is designed around the Motorola® MPC7455 PowerPC® “G4” processor with speed options of 800 MHz or 1 GHz and up to 1.25 Gbytes 266MHz DDR SDRAM (with ECC). The VP 742/20x is designed to meet the explicit needs of high-end performance processing in the VME real-time single board computer market and includes onboard I/O interfaces for a PMC site, Ultra-160 SCSI, dual Gigabit Ethernet, graphics, keyboard and mouse. Vertical markets include military, aerospace, scientific and telecommunications industries. For harsher applications the 800MHz VP 742/201-E operates at -25°C to +70°C.

Entry-level, 10-port, 10/100 Switched Fabric Board for PICMG 2.16 or VITA 31.1 based systems

Concurrent Technologies announces the FP 100/008 switched fabric board, complementing their range of CompactPCI® PICMG 2.16 and ANSI VITA 31.1 packet switched single board computers. The FP 100/008 is an "unmanaged" embedded Ethernet switching platform that provides a low cost, low power, switching solution for telecoms OEMs and integrators. Dissipating less than 5 Watts, it offers ten 10/100 auto-negotiating Ethernet ports, eight accessible via a PICMG 2.16 or VITA 31.1 packet switched backplane. The switch core contains a high-speed, non-blocking, layer 2, four traffic class Quality of Service (QoS) switch fabric. Designed for applications that do not require sophisticated features this board is available at a much lower price than traditional, feature-rich switches. Also provided is PICMG 2.9 IPMI system monitoring and hot insertion/removal to the backplane. The FP 100/008 includes VLAN security features for layer 2 firewall protection.

VME Dual PMC Host Board utilizes Intel® Pentium M processor and Intel® 855GME chipset

Concurrent Technologies announces a range of high performance low power VME based dual PMC single slot boards utilizing the Intel® Pentium® M processor. The VP 315/02x supports either the 1.6GHz or 1.1GHz processor (1 Mbyte L2 cache) and the VP 317/02x supports the 1.8GHz processor
(2 Mbytes L2 cache). All boards support up to 1Gbyte of soldered 266 MHz DDR ECC DRAM utilizing the Intel® 855GME chipset. With two 66MHz PMC sites, suitable for a wide range of PMC modules, the board also includes extensive I/O functionality and can support VITA 31.1. Commercial, extended and rugged versions are available for applications such as defense, industrial control and transportation systems. A range of operating system board support packages is also available.

VME single board computer featuring VITA 31.1, utilizes 1.8 GHz Intel® Pentium® M processor 745
Concurrent Technologies announces the latest addition to their range of VME boards – the VP 307/01x – featuring the newly announced low power
1.8 GHz Intel® Pentium® M processor 745 (formerly codenamed Dothan). This new processor increases the L2 cache size from 1 Mbyte to 2 Mbytes and has an improved performance versus power dissipation ratio. The VP 307/01x, a single slot SBC, supports up to 1.5 Gbytes DDR ECC SDRAM.  With an onboard PMC site, and expansion for two more PMC sites (all with rear I/O) the VP 307/01x rear I/O functions include dual Gigabit Ethernet, optional VITA 31.1, analog/digital graphics, keyboard, mouse, RS232/422/485, USB, floppy and EIDE interfaces. The front panel supports the PMC and analog/digital graphics, keyboard, mouse interfaces including additional front panel interfaces for USB, RS232/422/485 and Fast Ethernet. The VP 307/01x is a form, fit and function addition to the VP 305/01x family.

Low Power Dissipation using Intel® SpeedStep® Technology: To meet customer demands for even lower power dissipation Concurrent Technologies now support Enhanced Intel® SpeedStep® Technology on their range of VME and CompactPCI® single board computers, including extended operating temperatures. By utilizing the Intel® Pentium® M processor the system designer has greater control over the thermal and power characteristics of the board. Tests show benefits of up to four times less +5V board current. Therefore, depending on the application requirements, the processor frequency operating point of a board can be pre-set in the BIOS, or controlled dynamically via the application’s operating system.

Concurrent Technologies and Thales Computers to Co-Develop Pentium® M Processor Boards
Concurrent Technologies, a leader in the design and development of high-performance and innovative single board computer products based on Intel® Pentium® and Motorola® PowerPC® technology, and Thales Computers, a leader in the development of high-performance PowerPC- and Pentium-based VMEbus systems, announced that under a recently signed agreement, they will be undertaking the joint development of a new family of Pentium M-based VME processor boards.  The boards will be available in commercial, extended-temperature, and rugged versions.

VITA 31.1 Support from Concurrent Technologies and Hybricon
Concurrent Technologies and Hybricon have enabled VME system designers to reap the benefits of a packet-based switching architecture with products supporting VITA 31.1 (Gigabit Ethernet on VME64x Backplanes). VITA 31.1 provides a viable serial interconnect method by leveraging the mature PICMG® 2.16 standard into VME64x based systems. This enables a tried and tested method to implement multiprocessor architectures by leveraging available Ethernet hardware, IP software, and clustering software while simultaneously providing scalable VME system performance and redundancy/reliability. Concurrent Technologies’ VP 305/01x, a VME SBC utilizing the Intel® Pentium® M processor, supports VITA 31.1 (via the standard VME64x P0 connector). Hybricon’s Gigabit Ethernet VME64x backplane supports two VITA 31.1 switch fabric slots and nineteen VITA 31.1 node slots. The standard enables off-the-shelf PICMG 2.16 Ethernet switch fabric boards, as well as legacy VME boards, to be used within a VITA 31.1 enclosure.

Concurrent Technologies has extended the operating temperature of their recently released single slot VITA 31.1 based VME single board computer with extensive front/rear I/O functionality. The VP 305/011-E supports the 1.1 GHz Intel® Pentium M processor, with up to 1.5 Gbytes DDR ECC SDRAM, operating over a -25°C to +70°C temperature range. With one to three PMC sites, all with rear I/O, the VP 305/011-E rear I/O functions include dual Gigabit Ethernet, VITA 31.1 (Gigabit Ethernet on VME64x Backplanes), analog/digital graphics, keyboard, mouse, RS232/422/485, USB, floppy and EIDE interfaces. The front panel supports the PMC, analog graphics, keyboard and mouse interfaces and includes additional front panel interfaces for USB, RS232/422/485 and Fast Ethernet.

As well as two PMC sites with front and rear I/O, the PP 310/011-E supports dual Gigabit Ethernet, PICMG® 2.16 (Packet Switching Backplane), PICMG 2.9 (IPMI) and PICMG 2.1 (hot swap). The PP 310/011-E can operate as a system controller board, a peripheral board or as a satellite board (blade) and is front and rear plug compatible with Concurrent Technologies’ popular PP 110/01x family.

Entry level CompactPCI® controller plus PICMG® 2.16
The PP CP2/P3x single slot board supports PICMG 2.16 (Packet Switching Backplane), an ideal introduction to switched fabric applications, along with PICMG 2.9 IPMI system management. As a system controller, the PP CP2/P3x supports the PICMG 2.1 Hot Swap Specification and can also be used in satellite mode (stand-alone mode) for applications not requiring the CompactPCI backplane bus. Dual 1600x1200 CRT/DFP Graphics PMC Adaptor
The IO PMC/731 is a dual 1600x1200 graphics adaptor with analog RGB (to CRT) and digital flat panel (DFP) outputs. The IO PMC/731 is one of the industry’s first PMC adaptors to support DFP resolutions up to 1600x1200. Plus, both CRT and DFP outputs can be driven simultaneously with either different images or resolutions. Each output is available via a front panel DVI-I connector and the DFP PanelLink® output is also accessible via the P4 rear panel. The DFP interface cable can be up to 5 meters in length. The IO PMC/731 can be used with Concurrent Technologies' CompactPCI® and VME or any other PMC compliant host board.

Up to 1.6GHz Pentium® M VME SBC, with extensive front/rear I/O
The VP 305/01x, a single slot board, supports either the 1.6GHz or 1.1GHz Intel Pentium M processor and up to 1.5 Gbytes 200MHz DDR ECC SDRAM.  To give better I/O performance, and for lower power consumption, Concurrent Technologies chose the ServerWorks GC-LE chipset.  With one to three PMC sites, all with rear I/O, the VP 305/01x rear I/O functions include dual Gigabit Ethernet, VITA 31.1 (Gigabit Ethernet on VME64 Backplanes), analog/digital graphics, keyboard, mouse, RS232/422/485, USB, floppy and EIDE interfaces. The front panel supports the PMC, analog graphics, keyboard and mouse interfaces and includes additional front panel interfaces (separate from the rear I/O) for USB, RS232/422/485 and Fast Ethernet.
