Concurrent Technologies 2020 Recap

2020 will be the year everyone remembers as one of the most difficult and challenging years the world has seen for a long time. It has forced a lot of change and progression in ways we never saw coming.  As this strange year comes to a close, we thought it would be a good idea to look back at some of the key events and success stories that we have been able to share with our followers, customers and partners.

Firstly, 2020 marks the 35th anniversary of the founding of Concurrent Technologies. Our journey has been shared by a lot of familiar faces, who have dedicated the last 35 years to making it what it is today, and some newer faces, who bring a fresh perspective and vision for the future of the company. Whether you have been with us from the start, or have only recently found us, we want to thank you for sharing this journey and extend our deep appreciation to you. Concurrent Technologies wouldn’t be the same without your continued support.

This year got off to a flying start, with Concurrent Technologies attending the Embedded Tech Trends event in the USA and Embedded World Exhibition in Germany. It is strange to think back to a pre-pandemic time in which large groups could meet and discuss potential partnerships and opportunities. Embedded World followed the release of some new VPX solutions: Our first Artificial Intelligence Accelerator Engine, the TR AEx/6sd-RCx, a new high performance 3U VPX processor with optical interface, the TR J4x/6sd-RCx, and a series of storage modules, in partnership with Vanguard Rugged Storage.

One of the key goals for us this year was to increase the production of technical articles and publications available to our customers. We kicked this off with two new white papers being released. The first focused on VMware Virtualization benefits and the second investigating OneAPI and OpenCPI. As the year went on, we extended our offering further, with publications on Software Defined Radio, Artificial Intelligence and our Enhanced Environmental Test Program, all of which can be found here.

Our Partners, Alliances and distribution pathways are an intrinsic part in our success. We take great pride in our affiliations and are always looking for ways to collaborate and build as one.  We were extremely grateful to be awarded a Gold Tier Award for exceptional performance and contributions to supply chain success in 2019 for BAE Systems’ Electronic Systems sector. As 2020 has brought a lot of change, and the need to adapt, we increased our involvement with many remote/virtual events. We took part in a number of key webinars and talks with some other leading companies in the industry and ran a webinar of our own: focusing on inference at the edge and our AI solutions. We look forward to getting back out and meeting in person, but aim to continue our work virtually and hope we can bring more of these events to you in the coming year.

One of the more exciting projects we worked on this year was the creation of a brand-new company video! For any of you who haven’t seen it yet you can check it out here. The main aim of this video was to show off the professionalism and capabilities of us as a company and try to showcase some of our expertise and visions for the future.

Concurrent Technologies products are arguably the most important aspect of our business model. Our expert engineers have developed and released six new products, based on customer needs. First came the double drop of our first Artificial Intelligence Accelerator Engine, the TR AEx/6sd-RCx, and a new high performance 3U VPX Processor with Optical Interface, the TR J4x/6sd-RCx. Next came a brand-new high performance 3U VPX™ PCI Express® switch, the FR 342/x06, followed closely by the AM C8x/msd, a high performance AdvancedMC® board, and PP f84/m1d, a new CompactPCI® Processor Board. Last week we announced the final release of the year: the TR MS7/600-RCS, a Rugged 3U VPX storage board with front removable modules, suitable for mission data storage in rugged applications. We have delivered many positive achievements this year, despite the obvious global restrictions, and are ending 2020 in a position that sets us up for 2021.  Again, we’d like to take the opportunity to extend our gratitude to everyone who has shared the journey with us.  Season’s Greetings from all of us.
